My Work

I think that my Pieces where I used acetate worked better than the cyanotypes that I placed on top of the paper as they are less detailed than the acetate cyanotypes. Furthermore, the ones I made with acetate are more like the artist's work as if look more like a photo. However, some of my pieces did not turn out great as they are not detailed and it is hard to see the flowers. I think that my cyanotypes with leaves where I did not use acetate were quite successful as you can make out what they are but they lack the detail on the actual leaves. I further tried some more experiments on bigger pieces of paper so I could fit more on, to make these I used a lightbox so some of the flower bottoms didn't show up in the first two I tried. However, in the last experiment I tried I pressed the delicate leaves/flowers down using two pieces of glass rather than one and it came out very detailed, however, the flowers in two of the pieces do look smudged, but I still think they are some of my most successful pieces. To finish off, I tried making some digital cyanotypes, I did this by inverting the image and then using hue and saturation I changed the colour to blue while still trying to keep the flowers white, and/or a lighter blue, I think that the rose one turned out better than the other two as I think the colour of the background is more deep and contrasted in comparison to the flower.
