My work

I like how most of my Al Mefer Pieces turned out. I tried a varied number of methods to add the colour, these were through hue and saturation and playing with the colour balance to see what the outcome is. I preferred the pieces that were edited with colour balance as they look more vibrant and the colour overall looks better. I did also try editing different parts of the images different colours and when doing this I made sure to use colours that went well together, however, in the piece using a different colour on every leaf I feel as though I could have maybe used a smaller amount of colours and repeated them rather than a bunch of different colours. Some of my pieces had the dark but vibrant colour I wanted as it is a common colour in his work, but I enjoyed playing around with different colours and seeing how they turned out. I loved how my pieces that were naturally different colours, whether that was on the leaf or something else in the image as I feel it gives it an unnatural and unique element. Furthermore, I tried some landscape images with mountains in the background and I think these pieces were successful and look unique.

On the images where they use many colours I used the quick selection tool
Colour balance, or hue/saturation

Brightness and contrast

To further my experiments I decided to try taking photos of flowers using two different coloured gels. I like how these photos turned out, but I think the photos of the white flowers as opposed to the pink peonies worked better as the pink was a stronger colour and affected how the colours looked. However, the white absorbed the colours and made them look more vibrant.
